We like to break up our journey so Newark is a nice stop as there are many hotels near by. We stayed at another Marriott last time but there is nothing nearby so this time we try this one because there is a Ruby Tuesday, an IHOP and a mall near by. This hotel looks a bit older. Rooms are not fancy but adequate. We love the bed and had a good night’s sleep which is important. Staff are very nice.

This was the WORST STAY I HAVE EVER HAD! The staff was extremely rude ,Williams! Not only did he take other people who came after me(which he told me rudely that he was doing so) he also gave me attitude and refused to give me a receipt. When he wasn’t even the one who was supposed to be checking us in, since he preferred to take the previous man first! The room was hardly cleaned. The sink did not work! We had to wash our hands in the bathtub?! Neither did the thermostat so we were freezing the whole night. The coffee machine and outlets were also broken. The only thing I enjoyed was CHECKING OUT! I am disappointed especially since I’ve stayed with Marriott in multiple cities and countries! If I could give 0 stars I would!

Reserved king size room but given room with two queens. Office chair in room was barely usable. Yogurt parfait and medium coffee breakfast cost $15.49. Elevator sounded a little sketchy on the way down. Location is close to airport in secure area. People working at hotel are nice.

Staff are nice and the hotel is clean. Hotel shuttle is convenient and typically on time. Not much around the hotel in terms of food choices or walkable sites since it’s in an industrial area. But there’s a nice mall across the street for great shopping and it has a good food court.

Upon arrival at the hotel, staff was kind and seemed attentive. Unfortunately a situation was happening at the counter with a distraught young lady and the manager was loudly addressing this situation on speakerphone. Very unprofessional. Room is outdated and needed a deep clean. Beds for 2 adults had 3 pillows. Our reservation was for 3 people and we got linens for 2 people. As Marriott members, we are accustomed to fresh water in the room. There was none. We called the front desk repeatedly to ask for pillows, linens and water. No one answered phones. Even corporate couldn’t reach them. Went downstairs to ask and the employee got huffy about water! We even offered to buy the water. But we had just traveled for hours and it was bitterly cold outside. We wanted to not go out. They did give it to us but the attitude was unnecessary. The elevator wall panel felt like it was falling off when you hit buttons for the floor needed. And it constantly was readjusting itself at the floor. Felt very unsafe. Needed servicing. No complimentary coffee or tea in the lobby. This hotel put all the attention on the beautiful lobby. Would not go back! And definitely was not work the cost! We expect a certain standard when staying at a Marriott and this hotel fell way short.

This hotel is close to the airport with transportation, perfect for a stay before another flight elsewhere. The hotel is very clean and it is also quiet. They have a bar and grill in the lobby...
